Counselling
We at Willow Haven are well aware of
the stress and heartache that you may be going through when you lose your
family companion. All our staff and family have had pets most of their
lives and can empathise with what you may be going through.
We
know from experience that a listening ear can both add a little bit of
comfort and support at this very sensitive time. We like to hear about
your pets. It may well be difficult to discuss your personal
requirements and we will always give you as much time as you require to
ensure your wishes are met fully. We also understand the trauma that
other members of your family may be going through and we are always
willing to advise or just listen. You will initially be too fraught to
think of those happy times that you and your family had with your pet.
Later you will contemplate the happy life that you gave to your pet - that
other member of the family that never spoke to you yet gave all. You
should be grateful that you had the opportunity to nurture such a
relationship. People without pets often cannot see how you can get so
attached. If these people think that we are all a bit soft and 'over the
top' with our pets, then so be it - there are a lot of us
about. We at Willow Haven are not trained bereavement counsellors but
believe that we can assist in a small way from the experience gained over
many years. Unlike professional counsellors we obviously do not charge
for any help or advice whether you use our services or not.
Friends
We hoped this time would
never come. We'd hope to not be here. But time and tide would not
wait no more To raise our greatest fear.
For in its haste
it took a Pal But time, they say, will mend The sadness that we feel
right now Towards a loyal friend For friend you were but never
spoke. Could make us cry and laugh. Asked for little, gave a lot,
Until this final path.
We will always remember the happy times
Before this day drew nigh. Now there's only left one thing to
say That's "Thanks old friend .....Goodbye" Roy Beech
